Biography

Born and raised in a military family, I received an NROTC scholar to the University of Washington. I obtained my BSN from Seattle University and began my nursing career at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in in-patient pediatrics. I was then stationed at Naval Hospital Sigonella, collecting a multitude of experiences in Med/Surg., L&D, and Emergency Nursing. I was accepted through DUINS to the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) and received my DNP as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I was stationed at Naval Hospital Guam for my utilization tour. I was then stationed at Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor and became the Department Head of Military Readiness and then Family Medicine. I had the unique experience to deploy in support of Operation Allies Welcome in Indiana for Afghan refugee support. My husband and I have engaged our travels around the world while raising our 3 children. I am excited to return to USUHS as a faculty member and prepare future advanced practice nurses in the military.
