Biography

I am currently serving as the Uniformed Services University Site Director for the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Students located at Fort Hood. I also assist Troop Command as the Battalion Surgeon. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts. I enlisted in Army Reserves in 1993 and went active duty in 2001. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nursing Corps in 2006. In 2013, I was accepted to Long Term Health and Education and attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, earning my Doctorate in Nursing in 2016, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

I have held positions as a Commander of Health Clinic in Germany, Family Nurse Practitioner in Germany as well as Fort Hood, Labor and Delivery Nurse in Italy and Hawaii. As well as other assignments as Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, Antepartum Unit, Oncology Unit.

An area of research that I find interesting is Readiness, Patient outcomes research, and Healthcare quality and safety. In terms of evidence based practice, where I would like to make an impact is in the area of Healthcare quality and safety.
