Biography

Stephanie D. Bonner
Lieutenant Commander, Nurse Corps, United States Navy

LCDR Stephanie Bonner is originally from Montgomery, AL. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May of 2007 from Auburn University Montgomery. In 2018 she graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) Registered Nurse Anesthesia Program with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice.

LCDR Bonner received a direct commission in 2011 and reported to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) as a staff nurse on the Intensive Care Unit. In January 2013 through August 2013, she completed a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Charge Intensive Care Unit Nurse. In 2014 LCDR Bonner was selected for the DUINS Nurse Anesthesia Program and reported to USU in 2015. After graduation from USU LCDR Bonner reported to Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms in 2018 as a Staff Nurse Anesthetist. While at NHTP she served as Division Officer for the Anesthesia Department and Command Process Improvement Program Advocate. She transferred to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pensacola in July of 2020 and served as the Anesthesia Department Head, Acting Director of Surgical Services, and Florida Panhandle Market Anesthesia Representative. In August of 2023, LCDR Bonner assumed her current role of Research Director, assistant professor, and Assistant Clinical Site Director for the USU Registered Nurse Anesthesia Program at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Lieutenant Commander Bonner’s personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
