Biography

Dr. Moret is an assistant professor at the USUHS Graduate School of Nursing in the Psychiatric Mental Health Program. She is an ANCC Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and an ANCC Board Certified PMH Clinical Nurse Specialist. She previously served as the Chief of Behavioral Health at the Intrepid Spirit Center, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital from 2016-2020. During her time at the Intrepid Spirit Center she received a Civilian Achievement Award for her ingenuity in developing a novel model of care, 'The University Model', in which patients were considered 'students of their medical care'. In 2010, while at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, she developed and implemented an APRN run clinic, the 'Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic' which was recognized in 2012 by the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill, New Mexico chapter. In 2009 she received a Civilian Appreciation Award for her role in the reintegration and redeployment of the 173rd Airborne Brigade during several deployments, serving as a nurse practitioner in both the Vicenza Army Medical Clinic Primary Care Clinic and Behavioral Health Clinic. She was invited to speak at the 2019 NATO Personalized Medicine Conference in London and presented on 'Individualized Healthcare for the Military Specialized Forces'. That same year she was asked to speak at the National Capital Region Federal Optometric Society Conference presenting on 'Behavioral health considerations when treating TBI patients with residual visual symptoms'. In 2016 she was invited to speak at the International Accelerated Resolution Therapy Conference and presented on the use of accelerated resolution therapy in the TBI population. In 2015 she presented at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital Research Symposium discussing her work on 'Trauma Sensitive Yoga for the Military Community with Comorbid PTSD and TBI'.
