Education
Dr. Seibert received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in 1979, a Master of Science from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1994, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002. She is dual certified as a Women’s Health and Adult Nurse Practitioner and maintains a clinical practice at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Diane Seibert is Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Daniel K. Inouye, Graduate School of Nursing. In addition to her formal position, she co-chairs the University Interprofessional Education and Practice Taskforce and is the GSN representative to the University Standing Committee on Strategic Performance and Resourcing (SPR).Throughout her career, Dr. Seibert has served in a variety of different leadership positions. She held leadership roles as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force and has held
elected leadership positions in Sigma Theta Tau International, nursing’s international honor society. At USU, she directed the FNP program for ten years and has chaired many
committees including three DNP Taskforces, Accreditation taskforces and the University’s Merit Review Committee. The longest serving faculty member in the Graduate School of
Nursing, she has had the pleasure of formally and informally mentoring many new military and civilian faculty members.
Dr. Seibert is a highly sought-after speaker and has served on a number of boards and steering committees working to improve clinician knowledge and competency in the rapidly evolving area of genetics. An accomplished academician, Dr. Seibert has authored over 40 professional papers, books and books chapters; has given numerous national and international presentations; and served on editorial boards for referred journals.
