Biography

Born in Illinois, raised in Indiana with no military background, I became a nurse and opted to try military nursing after starting out in civilian sector outside of Chicago. I started as L&D nurse at Travis AFB, where I also met my husband. The Air Force offered up the opportunity to advance to WHNP at USUHS, and from there I served as WHNP at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, as well as Mountain Home AFB in Idaho before coming back here to teach. Research interests are still in development but focus on increasing access to care for women through creative and safe means, expanding on preventive and problem-based services to get women back to work/family life where they are most needed.
