Biography

Dr. Laura Ransom is the Assistant Site Director for the Phase II Nurse Anesthesia Program at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California. After working four years in a general 18 bed ICU in Rolla, Missouri and graduating with her BSN from Central Methodist University, Dr. Ransom commissioned in the United States Air Force. Her first assignment was to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada serving as an ICU nurse to veterans and DoD beneficiaries. During her four years at Nellis Air Force Base, she was deployed to Qatar serving on a forward surgical team in support of Special Operations. After returning from deployment, Dr. Ransom completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia in 2017 at Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences. She spent her first assignment as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Travis Air Force Base in California where she served as an interim Element Leader for the Anesthesia Department and Phase II Adjunct Faculty for the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences Nurse Anesthesia students. Dr. Ransom's research interests include Trigger Films in Nurse Anesthesia Education and Training as well as Virtual Reality in Anesthesia.
