Biography

Born and raised in a military family, Samantha Jennings received an NROTC scholar to the University of Washington. She obtained a BSN from Seattle University and began her nursing career at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in in-patient pediatrics. She was then stationed at Naval Hospital Sigonella, collecting a multitude of experiences in Med/Surg., L&D, and Emergency Nursing. She was accepted through DUINS to the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) and received a DNP as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was stationed at Naval Hospital Guam for her utilization tour. She was then stationed at Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor and became the Department Head of Military Readiness and then Family Medicine. CDR Jennings had the unique experience to deploy in support of Operation Allies Welcome in Indiana for Afghan refugee support. Along with her husband, they enjoyed their travels around the world while raising their 3 children. She is excited to return to USUHS as a faculty member and prepare future advanced practice nurses in the military.
